  • Mindsight - Feature Film

Josh played Mikey, the son of the main character in this mind-bending independent thriller. The plot is this: Tom is a middle class man with a beautiful wife and child whom he loves more than anything else in the world. One  weekend, Tom and three of his buddies and their families get together for the weekend. The question arose on what the men would do to someone if they hurt our child? All agreed the proper answer would be to never have to find out. The next morning Tom and the family get up and do yard work. Tom begins playing catch with his son when the ball goes over his head. His son chases the ball into the street, and is hit by a drunken college partier, on his way to the corner store. After their son’s death, Tom and Gina go on a roller coaster ride of emotions. Tom begins to experience Mindsight, confused on what is real and what is not.

A total thriller, but rest assured that Josh was not hurt during the car scene, nor were any animals!! In fact, Josh had a great time playing out such a dramatic scene. The film is being submitted to Sundance and the festival circuit, and is likely to receive a distribution deal.

  • The Journal - Josh's first short film

The Journal is about a young man who lost his mother when he was about 5 years old... and how it changed him and shaped him. Much later in life, he found a journal that his mom had written for him during her terminal illness, but he couldn't bring himself to open it. Toward the end of the film, the journal helps him get to know the mother he never really knew, and changes his life forever. In a short 15 minutes, it tells an emotional story that you just don't want to end.

Josh plays Young Alex in the film. It was a wonderful experience for him... SUCH an amazing crew and a director (Sam Wasserman) that Josh really connected with. He loved it. He also enjoyed wearing footie pajamas for two straight days!

As an unexpected honor, the director gave Josh an "introducing" credit. Watch for it at the end of the film!

Below is a short compilation of clips from the film. The director is not yet able to post the film in its entirety due to festival regulations.

  • Safeco :30

Josh shot this spot in August of 2007 for Safeco Insurance for their "What Matters to You?" Campaign. Although it was a Spanish-language spot, Josh didn't have to use any of his Spanish, since it was a non-speaking role. He had a blast on this set -- they treated him like royalty, and he adored his onscreen dad, Pablo Bracho. But months after this shoot, when asked in an acting workshop, "What's the hardest part about acting-- the auditions? memorizing lines? the pressure?" Josh answered, "Having a different dad!"

  • Space Center Houston :30

  • Josh's Actor's Slate Reel

In order for casting directors and other decision makers to be able to get the feel of an actor, without actually meeting them, actors produce "Slate Reels" to show their personality. It's a collection of interview clips edited together. Does Josh's personality come through on his slate? Survey says YES! This slate reel landed him a personal meeting with the director on his first feature film, and ultimately the part!
